We’re growing Art Does It and the Center for the Arts. (ADICAT)—
Since 12/07/2023 @adicatsouth (that's our social handle) published to seven social channels near daily images, stories, and videos…
our Youtube channel has over 1,200 views in 20 days! See Videos and animations of bronze casting, cats, dogs, airplanes, horses, antique mercedes sedans, tree cutting, replacing floor joists…
And art, lots and lots of art!
In 2024, I’ll share the minutiae of social marketing of ADICAT the art, artists, and instruction— via my process section For the Love or FTL (some of the FTL posts are free).
Along with marketing ADICAT, I
trimmed my publishing technologies (video editing, graphics, design, writing) to a digital nomad status of iOS and Android cell phones, Ipad and stylus for the 2024 NY trip.
discovered many artist-tech hacks. I’ll post these hacks semi-weekly and compile for another DIY manual, one similar to last year’s — DYI Vella Publishing .
Remember reading last week’s letter and these remarks about art:
--Art is the self- Benno
--Art is the audience- Tage
and then
--you are the Art- Regina
I’ve been promoting art and artists since our first gallery in Narrowsburg, NY in 1994 and I know—
artists fumble when composing their artist statements.
So how is “branding artists” even possible?
Promoting one’s art.
Packaging yourself or another artist for success…
there’s magic behind a near impossible task—
For the marriage of Art Does It and Center for the Arts and Trade to succeed, we agree
no art or artist should have more social presence than the other.
art is not a product and it is
a process, a way of life.
But how do you roll all our creativity into one marketing image?
In our case you don’t.
Instead we came up with:
Dominant Colors— Red, White and Black.
Why? Clarity. Balance. Contrast.
Red for passion. Black for strength. White for peace.
The multicolored ADI arrow is inclusive.
The Shapes-
an arrow targeted.
A nebulous black spot against which the arrow explodes. It can be:
an ink spill
a poof of inspiration
an unknown
What can be unknown?
Art can be unknown.
So here is our little Poof of Art created from an ink spot or spill.
It has a story to tell.
Youtube Logo
Our podcasts and Youtube channels are the instructional component of ADICAT. The Youtube playlist includes traditional art techniques, mechanics and electronics for kinetic art, sculpting, casting, photography, DIY, animation.
The Youtube banner below, uses the ADICAT logo with our new ART poof.
The background image is of Tage’s life size portrait sculpture of me.
The banner background image changes with strategy. (If promoting a painting the painting would appear behind us, for example.)
The podcast and video hosts are myself and Tage.
The graphic is designed to resize on any device, hence the logo appears twice.
I expect the marketing look and feel of ADICAT to evolve. For now, I like the black poof or ink drop, it is IMAGINATION taking hold.
Here’s an animated sketch for an idea taking hold right now!
Until next week, 2024!
Happy New Year!
